Past memories+Jiuchong Hu #2

Jiuchong Hu #2 Chin Chen Nong Chang
 (Tea & Mochi garden)

Originally, nong-chang means a farm
but, there is no vegies, animals and even farmers!
I don't know if they are hidden at the back
or
if I passed by without noticing
or
whatsoever
So, I call this farm as a garden :-)
Chin Chen garden
sounds much better huh?

Entrance of the garden

it was drizzling
you can feel the wet atmosphere in the pic

The giant upturned beetle.
this looks lonely in this pic, say, kinda funny
but, if u see the real one, it looks extra funny
pahaha, it has a heart shaped nose!!!!

Connie & Ady besides cone shaped trees

Garden from outside

Entrance of Chin Chen tea shop/restaurant

Boss making wooden beetle
You can make one too on the weekends! :-)

Taiwanese indigenous people chair
looks like African tribe though

Tables and chairs of indigenous people
I give 5 out of 5!

Ady ordering Mashu and Hakka ground tea

Now, It's time for Mashu DIY

First, Pound warm, glutenous rice paste in a milstone
This paste is quite sticky and oily
need to try hard to pound it well

This lady was an expert!
She did it so easily
like, spin, spin, pound, spin, spin, pound
she had her own rhythm and in 10 secs, it's done!

Pa-bam! We have our Mashu!
Also known as Mochi

Rice paste with sweet nut sugar powder
yummmm!

Okay,
Next one is 'Hakka ground tea'

Grind a lot of nuts in a bowl with a paddle

Until all the nuts disappeared and leave only fine powder in the bowl

Then put the powder in cup and pour hot water

Now, we have our Hakka ground tea!
with dried plums, rice cracker and pumkin seeds

It was raining in shower later
so we waited for our antie to pick us up
In this small village, everyone knows each other
on rainy day, conversation of autie and the people in the restaurant
with giggles and jokes
I didn't understand even a word,
but, you know, the feeling was so warm and touched my heart

This place is full of humanity

I remind you I'm at Jiuchong Hu in Sinpu township

Random Pics

we have one dog called Blackie at the house, means a small black dog
He is black but old and big
Funny thing is, in Taiwan, every black dog is called Blackie (Shya hwae yi)
Just I mean it. They are everywhere in the city!

This dog in the pic is a stray dog
He just appeared in front of Connie and me on that day
and followed us all the way
So, I call him Brownie!
Shya Hu ang, a small yellow dog

He still appears from anywhere and get a chicken bone from the restaurant
when he is lucky :D

Hakka flat noodles

Egg tart~><
Sure say, this is my favourite in Taiwan so far!
this one just looks like a meat pie but it is made of egg!
Crispy outside and tender, creamy egg inside
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
>u<

Oh, In Taiwan, KFC sells anything
egg tart, corn soup, milk tea, flat bread burger and of course chips and chicken
