The last day

For the last two days, I was really really really busy
I finished all my works just before now, at 4pm on 27th Jan
I had to edit my personal video, Jiuchong Hu video and also draw persimmon mascot for Sinpu workshop
I am leaving tomorrow, going to Korea to spend Chinese New Year with my family

I tell you now
I loved the time I stayed here, the people I met and the places I went
The memories I made here will be in my heart forever

Thank you to those who have been so kind to me
I will miss you all

I had a chance to make a fig pudding at Jin Gu Nong Chang!

진구농장에서 무화과 푸딩을 만들 기회가 생겼어요!

진구농장 주인 아저씨와 사무실 아주머니와 쯔시앙에게 감사드립니다 

This is Fucus pumila, commonly known as "creeping fig"

이게 퍼커스 퍼밀라, 기어올라 자라는 무화과나무 입니다

left is male fig fruit and right is female fig fruit

왼쪽이 숫무화과 열매고, 오른쪽이 암무화과 열매에요

as its outer shape, the inside is also different

Left is male and right is female

we use female fig seeds to make a pudding

바깥모양처럼 안쪽 역시 다르게 생겼어요

왼쪽이 수무화과고 오른쪽이 암무화과에요

푸딩을 만들기 위해서는 암무화과의 열매를 써요

This is how to take out fig seeds from the fruit

이게 무화과씨를 과일에서 떼어내는 법이에요

Put the seeds in a cotton bag

씨앗을 면백에 담아요

Tie it tightly

꽉 묶어줍니다

Pour water in a bowl as much as you want

we put six cups of water to make six cups of pudding

원하시는 만큼 그릇에 물을 담으세요

저희는 6컵 넣었답니다

Squeeze the bag in the water as washing cloth

옷을 빨듯이 주머니를 물에 넣고 짜주세요

until colour turns like this

이런 색깔이 될때 까지요

Then, pour the water into cups

그 다음엔 이 물을 컵에 담습니다

Complete!

Now, wait until it turns into pudding!

완성!

이제 푸딩이 될때까지 기다리면 되요!

Even though we didn't put any sugar, it is very sweet

easy to make and good as a snack for kids

 설탕을 넣지 않았는데도 굉장히 달아요

만들기도 쉽고 애들 간식으로도 굉장히 좋아요

I think I can make a bear shaped fig pudding next time

다음엔 곰모양 무화과푸딩을 만들 수 있을것 같아요

Do you know why I chose buttefly, beetle, dragonfly and firefly as the mascots of Jiuchong Hu?

It is because those are most common insects you can see in this area

Pi tang wo, in particular, is designed as an ecological park that has very good habitat of those insects

제가 왜 나비, 풍뎅이, 잠자리, 반딧불이를 조총후의 마스코트로 선택했는지 아세요?

그건요 이 곤충들이 이 지역에서 가장 많이 볼 수 있는 곤충이라 그래요

특히 피탕워는 생태계공원으로 디자인 되어서 이 곤충들이 살기에

굉장히 좋은 서식지에요

Pi tang wo was once a desolated land

but with assistance of Soil and Water conservation and local government's cooperation

it has been changed into a beautiful ecological park.

피탕워는 원래는 황무지 였어요

그치만 토양수질관리국의 지원과 지방단체의 협력으로

지금은 예쁜 생태계공원으로 바뀌었죠

all the constructions here are built by guidance in ecological engineering

여기있는 모든 건축물은 생태계과학설계 하에 지어졌어요

it feels so good when walking on this woodchip road

이 나무 깔린 길 걸으면 굉장히 기분이 좋아요

my favourite spot

I love the tree in the middle

It would be a good shade tree for me if I came here in summer

제가 가장 좋아하는 장소에요 

저 중간에 있는 나무 너무 좋아요 

여름에 왔었으면 굉장히 좋은 그늘 나무가 되어줬을 꺼에요

It is a good place to bring kids for nature education

beautiful to take photos with family and friends

애들 자연 공부 하기에 좋은 장소에요

가족들이랑 친구들하고 사진 찍기에도 예쁘구요

You can not see this place on your map because it is hidden

but there is no entry fee here and the environment is well maintained

숨겨져 있기때문에 이 장소는 지도에 표시되어 있지 않을 꺼에요

그래도 입장료도 필요없고 환경도 잘 유지되어있어요

Sinpu township

Now it is Sinpu township's turn

이젠 신푸읍 차례에요

The famous hakka flat noodle soup!

Since it is said most of Sinpu people are from Hakka origin, Sinpu is also famous of its hakka cuisine

This flat noodle soup is also a hakka cuisine made of rice

 and my favourite when raining!

그 유명한 하카 납작면국수!

대부분의 신푸사람들이 하카인 관계로 신푸 역시 하카음식으로 유명해요

이 납작면 국수 역시 쌀로 만든 하카 음식이에요

그리고 비 올때 제가 가장 좋아하는 음식이기도 해요

Just like other townships, quiet on weekdays

다른 읍내들처럼 평일에는 조용해요

두부가게

everyday morning fresh handmade tofu

there was once tofu DIY at this store but not anymore

Don't be sad

At least you can taste this tender tofu here

매일 아침 신선한 손으로 만든 두부

한때는 이 가게에 두부 DIY도 있었다는데 지금은 없데요

그치만 슬퍼하지마세요

적어도 이 부드러운 두부를 먹어볼 수는 있잖아요

Guang He Temple

광해궁

Established in 1806

Largest temple on Sinpu street

This houses the "Shanshan King", the guardian to the Hakka people.

A lot of activities were held on the square in front of temple in the old times

1806년에 설립되었고

신푸길에서 가장 큰 절입니다

샨샨왕이라는 하카사람들의 수호신을 모시고 있어요

옛날에는 절 앞에서 많은 활동들을 했다고 해요

The Chen's ancestral temple

it was designated as a county historic site in 2005.

This is the most symbolic architecture in Sinpu

첸가의 조상사당이에요

2005년에 신추군의 사적지로 지정되었어요

신푸의 가장 상징적인 건축양식 이에요

however, as this temple is private owned place, we couldn't go in

so we took some photos outside

Can you find a bat on pillar?

It is said bet is the symbolic animal of Chen family

어쨌든, 이 절은 개인 소유지이기때문에 들어갈 수는 없었어요

그래서 밖에서 사진 몇장 찍었죠

기둥에 박쥐 보이세요?

박쥐가 첸가의 상징동물이었다네요

What piggie?

I can't remember the name of this shop

but on Sinpu street, there was this shop that makes coffin

and right besides this coffin shop,

there was another shop that makes paper doll and houses for dead people

무슨 돼지냐구요?

가게 이름은 기억이 안나는데요

신푸도로에 관을 만드는 가게가 있었어요

그리고 바로 그 관짜는 집 옆에

죽은 사람들을 위해 종이인형이나 종이집을 만들어 주는 가게가 있었어요

At first, we didn't know that was the shop that makes something for dead people

so we were just happy finding this pretty pigs and take photos!

처음에는 이게 죽은사람을 위해 뭐 만들어주는 가게인걸 몰랐어요

그래서 그냥 예쁜 돼지 찾았다고 기뻐가지고 사진 찍었죠

Inside the shop, there was an exhibition area

가게 안에는 전시공간이 있었어요

They said before funeral, these paper dolls

and houses are built for the dead 

and they burn all of them at the funeral

so that the dead can live in a big house with lots of servants in after world

그 사람들이 말하길, 이 종이인형들과 집들은 죽은 사람을 위해 장례식 전에 만들어진데요

그리고 장례식날 모두 태워버리는 거죠

그래서 죽은 사람이 저 세상에서 큰 집에 많은 하인들을 거느릴 수 있게요

Sinpu traditional market

There are many traditional Hakka food stands in this hundred-year-old Hakka traditional market,

selling seasonings, pickled vegetables, persimmon cakes and other traditional food.

신푸 전통 시장

100년된 하카 전통 시장 안에는 하카 전통음식 스탠드들이 많이 있다

각종 양념재료들과 야채 장아찌들, 감케이크와 그밖의 많은 정통 음식들을 판다

Now it is a restaurant you can have a meal

it has old pictures and books inside

옛날 신푸읍장의 집

지금은 밥을 먹을 수 있는 식당이다

Sinpu has more tourist attractions such as Liu's ancestral hall, Yimin temple and Garden Nan

Every June and July, pear festival is held and October is persimmon festival

Do spare some time and come to eat all these fruits and delicious Hakka foods

신푸에는 리우 조상사당, 이민사 그리고 난 가든같은 관광지들이 많이 있다 

매년 6월과 7월에는 배축제가 열리고 10월에는 감축제가 있다 

시간 내서 이 과일들과 맛있는 하카 음식들을 먹으러 오세요
